Pickett Sprouse Broker Vernon Averett Facilitates Transaction

Pickett Sprouse Commercial Real Estate is pleased to announce that it recently assisted Goodwill Industries of North Carolina (GIENC) with locating property for its corporate offices at 1701 TW Alexander Drive in Durham. Pickett Sprouse Commercial Real Estate Broker Vernon Averett, CCIM represented GIENC.

“This location takes care of Goodwill Industries of Eastern North Carolina’s corporate needs for many years since they can put all their divisions in one place. Plus, there is room on the site to add a second building should they ever need to expand,” said Averett. “Working with organizations like this to help them operate as efficiently as possible as they serve the communities in our region is part of what I love most about my job.”

The nonprofit organization is affiliated with Goodwill Industries International and provides employment, educational, and life enrichment opportunities to local and regional communities throughout eastern North Carolina. With 16,630 square feet of space, the building on the new property is more than twice the size of GIENC’s current leased location, which is also in Durham.

"As a Durham-based organization serving the greater Triangle, Sandhills, and eastern North Carolina, it was important to maintain our connection to the Durham community while continuing our service to communities throughout our 51-county service area,” said Christopher Hash, GIENC president & CEO.

The seller of the property was the Apex School of Theology, which was represented by Eric Edwards of Champion Realty & Investments.
